Constant energy that is available on the move plays an increasingly important role, even for bikes. Parking lights will soon become obligatory for environment-friendly bicycles and twelve volt systems are becoming more and more popular for brighter and thus safer lights on bikes. Modern accumulators are the ideal solution for this power problem, and the days of the classic dynamo - often whining and unreliable - are numbered. EMB, one of Europe's leading companies for the development and manufacture of customised battery packs, can also offer qualified and marketable solutions in this segment.
Our customer supplies manufacturers of high-quality bikes world-wide. Over two years ago they approached us with the idea of making up very special battery packs for exclusive bikes to give cyclists an optimum luminous power using corresponding xenon headlamps. The initial contact led to a constructive meeting during which the technical and economic parameters were defined. Only three weeks later we were able to present the customer with a prototype where the accumulator was cleverly accommodated in a normal drinking bottle and then fixed in place with expanded foam. This solution went into serial production shortly afterwards and was successfully launched on to the market. Our customer was absolutely delighted with the technical realisation of the project and the extremely fast time-to-market, since this plays a decisive role in the trendy bike industry. This project was the start of a co-operation that has now lasted over two years and been very successful for both partners.
