PHET / Pihsiang Energy Technology (Who's Who?)

The Taiwanese company PHET was founded in 1998 as Pacific Energytech Co. Ltd. In 2005 the company was renamed Pihsiang Energy Technology Co., Ltd. In the same year the company developed cells with lithium-iron phosphate cathodes. Despite its own development work, on its website PHET refers to a patent from the company Phostec. It says PHET is the only licence holder of Phostech, which apparently has the worldwide patent for LiFePO4 ('PAT. C-LiFePO4') for the production and use of lithium-iron phosphate cells. It notes that PHET has been granted exclusive rights to use the patent. Electric cycles, medical wheelchairs and electric vehicles are cited as examples of application areas.
